Like a dog stuck on its bone,
The door has fast become my favourite spot since you went.
Hoping that one day you will walk through its embrace,
Back into these arms that have long been left bare.
My nights are colder,
My days, longer
You know what they say that, “Out of sight, out of mind”
But I guess that
only works for a little while
Until the heart
begins to feel that irreparable absence,
And begins to
grow fonder.
Although I dislike being deceived,
The promise of your coming, I like to hear
My lips keep wandering where yours has been
And the well of my arms,
Yearn to be filled with the water that flows from your every hug.
Our water is running dry,
Because with every miss, a drop falls from my eyes.
